Ayurveda – Food Combinations That Can Be Hazardous to Your Health

Many people enjoy a banana shake or smoothie to start their day. It’s also a popular drink among athletes who use it to replenish nutrients and electrolytes after a workout. Muscle cramps are supposed to be prevented by drinking a banana shake or smoothie. Ayurveda also forbids mixing salt and milk because of their opposing characteristics. Ayurveda, on the other hand, considers banana and milk to be ‘Viruddha Ahaar.’ While bananas and milk are both nutritious, eating them together can cause the release of energy called Vipaka, which can cause a variety of health concerns.

Viruddha Ahara is a combination of fish and milk, honey and ghee in equal proportions, curd, and cheese. According to Ayurveda expert Viruddha Aharas are combinations that have opposite properties or have an unwanted effect on the body when processed in a particular form, exert undesirable effects when combined in a certain proportion, or have an unwanted effect if consumed at the wrong time.

According to Ayurveda, the following meal combinations are damaging to one’s health:
Milk and banana, curd or buttermilk

Banana should not be consumed with milk, curds, or buttermilk since the combination can impair digestion and cause the body to generate toxins. This combination of foods can cause a cold, cough, and allergies this is according to the Ayurveda specialist.

Honey and ghee

Honey has a heating, drying, scraping action, whereas ghee has a cooling, moisturising quality. ghee and honey should not be combined since they have opposite effects on the body. When combining ghee and honey, use a bigger amount of one or the other.

Fish and milk

Milk should not be consumed with fish since the two items are incompatible: milk is cold, whilst fish is hot. When the two are combined, the blood becomes tainted and the body’s passageway becomes clogged.

Cheese and curd

Curds can irritate the blood, pitta, and Kapha doshas. cheese takes a long time to digest and can cause constipation, thus those with poor digestion should avoid cheese and yoghurt consumption regardless of the season.

Curds are good to eat in the winter, but not at night. Curd is often avoided in autumn, summer, and spring, If you must eat curds, do it at lunchtime when your digestion is at its best.
